Langdale United Methodist Church is all about “making Jesus real.”  We understand we live in a world where people are looking for those things in life that are genuine, particularly when it is associated with their faith journey.  We all want to believe that God is a real and personal God who loves us and cares for us.  At Langdale, we offer experiences of worship, study, and fellowship for all ages that will help you to know God is passionately in love with you.  Our Mission Statement identifies the purpose for our ministry – “To know God and to make God known throughout the world with Christ-like care, love, and maturity.”  If you are looking for a church family to join, we hope you will consider Langdale.  We are a congregation of care and unity as we grow disciples for Jesus Christ.  We will challenge you in your walk as a disciple.

We invite you to explore our website to discover who we are and how we can help you grow in Christ. See the many ministries we currently have and hopefully you will find one that interests you. You can meet our staff, see our calendar of events, find out about our worship services and times, and just get to know us. And when you visit us, we simply invite you to "make yourself at home". If you have any questions, please call us at 334-756-2221 or email any staff person. We are ready to join you in "making Jesus real" in our community and world.

MAYA Class

The MAYA (Middle Age Young Adults) Class meets on the second floor of the Education Building.  The class is made up of singles and couples 50+ years of age.  Most of the members have children that are grown with children of their own.  Some members are in the "in-between generation" where they care for their children, grandchildren, and parents.  A great group of teachers rotate Sundays and lead in a variety of studies, as well as lively discussions.  Several times a year, this class meets for dinner, a short trip, or a class party.  Many of the members sing in the Chancel Choir and/or volunteer with Operation Help-A-Child (led by one of the members), and the Bread Basket (a local community event).  For the past several years, the MAYA Class has been in charge of the Easter Breakfast following the Easter Sunrise Service.  Although the average age is 55, anyone of any age is welcome.
